THERE ARE 2 NATIONAL COACHING IRELAND RECOGNISED COURSES AVAILABLE FOR LADIES GAELIC FOOTBALL:
Course Title: Ladies FUNdamentals Course Outcomes: By the end of the course the coach will: - understand the qualities needed to be a good coach
- have a clear understanding of the rule differences between the ladies and men’s game
- have sampled a variety of games for warm-up, skills sessions and cool downs
- have a basic understanding of the Ladies Gaelic Football Code of Ethics and it’s place within coaching.
Content: The course will include the following: - Planning a training session
- the ABC’s of Ladies Gaelic Football
- Code of Ethics
- ideas for coaching sessions
- and much more
This course is 6hrs in duration. Course Title: Ladies Level 1 – Raising the Bar Participants must have completed the Ladies FUNdamentals course, be 18yrs or older and have at least 1 years coaching experience. Course Outcomes: By the end of the course the coach will: - understand their role as a coach
- have a clear understanding of all the rules of Ladies Gaelic Football
- understand the principles of training, fitness testing and nutrition and be able to use them in coaching sessions
- be able to tailor coaching sessions to deal with a variety of scenarios on the pitch
Content: The course will include the following: - Fitness testing
- Nutrition
- Theoretical sessions
- Practical sessions
Raising the Bar is 22 hours in duration, 12 hours course work (over 2 weekends) and 10 hours of practical work. It is an interactive course which combines theory with practice and challenges coaches to think ‘outside the box.’ |
