Today seen the start of the 2012 Bord Gais Energy National Leagues. Seven sides from the province were in action however four suffered losses and three recorded first round victories.

In Division 1 Monaghan beat Laois 2-6 to 1-6 however Meath got the better of Tyrone 1-12 to 1-7 and All Ireland champions Cork proved too strong for Donegal winning 4-9 to 1-7.

Cavan won the Division 2 all Ulster tie beating Fermanagh 1-9 to 2-5.

In Division 3 Armagh went goal crazy putting five by Sligo as they went on to win 5-19 to 3-4 however Down had no joy on the road losing to Leitrim 5-9 to 1-5.

Antrim had a bye

Round 2 takes place next weekend.
